Microfibre Jean Pockets

90% of the time electronic gadgets are in pockets. Frequently they are also in some other protective covering. This seems like a convoluted way to protect expensive iPods and mobile phones.

Why not just make the pockets of jeans out of microfibre so they don't scratch? If they are well designed any dirt that collects in pockets can easily be emptied out.
